Trying again

So, in April, I said I was back!  lol  I am still trying to find "me" time, but it is not easy!  I have been doing my gardening this summer, here are a few photos of my backyard...

I am back!

Wow, I can not believe how long it has been since I have been on here.  Had a life changing event happen to me this past winter.  My boyfriends 15 year old daughter has come to live with us.  Let me just say she comes with a lot of problems...
I need to start spending some of my time on myself, so here I am!

Who Pudding

Ingredients

2/3 cup long-grain (not converted) rice               

3 cups milk

3/4 cup sugar

1 teaspoon vanilla extract

2 tablespoons butter

1/2 teaspoon salt

4 eggs, separated

1/8 cup of red and green M&M’s

What You’ll Need

double boiler, medium-size mixing bowls, small-size mixing bowl, wire whisk, deep serving dish.

1. With the help of an adult, combine rice and milk in top of double boiler. Cover and cook over simmering water for 30 

minutes or until rice is tender.

2. Preheat oven to 325º F. Beat egg yolks with a wire whisk until frothy. Stir 3/4 cup sugar, vanilla, butter, salt, and egg 

yolks into warm rice mixture. Mix well.

3. Grease a shallow baking dish. Pour in pudding. Bake for 35-40 minutes.

4. Remove from oven and let cool on a wire rack for 10 minutes.

5. Refrigerate overnight or for at least 8 hours. Top with red and green M&M’s before serving.

Feeds two hundred Whos . . . or four to six yous.

Are you kidding me?  I can not believe it is December!  November just flew by!  I hope everyone had a Happy Thanksgiving!  Her at my house, we spent Thanksgiving with my boyfriends parents and daughter.  His 14 year old daughter made the best sweet potatoes!


While I was getting ready for Thanksgiving, I decided I needed a centerpiece for my table.
So, I took this plain pumpkin that I had gotten at Hobby Lobby last year...

And dressed it up a little...

New Nuances De Couleur Challenge....

Are you looking forward to Halloween?

I am looking forward to Halloween!  Since I work at an elementary school, I get to see all the little kids dress up for school!  At night, I hand out candy from my home.  I live in a very busy neighborhood!  Kids get brought in from all over!  Here is a photo I took last year, police on horses were riding around that night!

I just finished another layout, using Lacee's Halloween embellishment kit!

These pictures were taken last Halloween!  That is my nephew, he was a spider!  Here are a couple of close ups!

August Nuances De Couleur Challenge!

Hello Ladies!  Just wanted to tell everyone about the color challenge I am doing over at Bella Creations!  The colors for the August NUANCES DE COULEUR challenge are: Blues, whites and browns! Nuances De Couleur

I  did manage to get a couple of things crafted while I was on vacation!
First is my box.  My example of the July Muse challenge at Bella Creations!

Here are a few shots of my project.  I was also, finally, able to get a layout example Red, White and Blue, of course!

The last item I was able to get made in Florida were some stick pins.  I let my 6 yr old niece make some with me!

Hello from sunny Florida!

Hi all!  I am still down in sunny Florida enjoying a 3 week vacation at my brother and sister in-laws house!  Been enjoying my time with my niece and nephew!  Have been boating twice with a great friend I have down here, and her family!  Here is a picture of some dolphin we saw on one of our trips...

I am in awe every time I see the dolphin!
